Time Containers / Time-Wasting Action
Wasting time is a way of redefining time through symbolic action. Wasting time doesn't mean gaining it, but rather NOT wasting it. This idea implies a constant task through which one attempts to revalue the use of time. “The freedom acquired implies great responsibility”[1] and being conscious of the use of time is also a responsibility.
Time Containers is a work that stems from the uncertainty surrounding this newly acquired freedom and the use of time as production time, as work time. The containers are blank notebooks that have been altered, metaphorically representing the "loss of time" through endless processes. The fact that it is an infinite work, or at least one without a predetermined final number of notebooks, is a way of questioning "the passage of time" through accumulation and repetition.
