NO HUMAN CAN HURT ME - #2 (rest)

 

NHCHM - #2 is a three-dimensional installation in a 3x7 meter room. One wall features a looped video projection that simulates a "natural" environment constructed from animated GIFs and spam images downloaded from the internet. Another wall is covered with a "desktop background" image. The ceiling is painted light blue. The floor is covered with felt and artificial turf, where multicolored cushions are spread out. The ambient music is soft and invites the public to rest for a moment in a "natural" environment.

This work questions the concept of Nature as the mother of all things, as the only space capable of bringing peace to the individual. The work is constructed by simulating a natural environment using artificial elements and devices.

NHCHM - #2 aims to question how technology is able to shape Nature and how this impacts all spheres and levels of human life, how we live and how we relate to our environment.

To quote the Xenofeminists: "If nature is unjust, change nature." This challenge to nature leaves a trace that creates a symbiotic relationship between technology and humanity.

We are all cyborgs because we live in humanoid bodies, immersed in a world shaped by the internet and new technologies. This is how the dystopian future unfolds. The human-animal duality underlies the codes of our accelerated contemporary existence. Collapse becomes visible and inevitable. Nature's challenge leaves a trace that symbiotically binds technology and humanity.
