All Water / or all nothing

The liquid, that state of things that slips through our fingers and that we cannot hold unless we contain it.
Our own body is one of the most precious containers of fluids. Fluids that allow us to live and function on Earth.

This piece is a combination of two ideas that have become increasingly strong as my work progresses. The idea of white as a reference to emptiness and the idea of water (the liquid) in reference to a state of continuous flow.

In this piece we see a map of the Earth where the land (the solid, the firm) has been emptied, erased with correction fluid, bleached. Only water remains as the sole place. A place of transit, in constant motion. A space where our body must readjust in order to inhabit it.

The space occupied by water on the map has been reinforced through a pattern drawn by hand with a ballpoint pen. This pattern is repeated throughout the celestial space of the triptych, implying a form of connection through a physical imposition and reaffirming a working methodology as a constructive strategy.
